A modern sports shooting club in Kolpino is conceived as a multifunctional complex of international standard, combining professional sports, spectacular competitions, and comfortable family recreation. The architectural concept unites the shooting ranges, leisure areas, and the clubhouse into a single ensemble, harmoniously integrated into the natural surroundings.
Sports Shooting Club
Sports Shooting Club
Developed by our studio, the architectural project of the sports shooting club in Kolpino, near St. Petersburg. The complex is designed both for professional shooting sports and for hosting top-level competitions (including international tournaments), as well as for full-fledged family recreation, offering a unique combination of sporting opportunities and comfortable leisure.
Thought-out structure: three functional zones
- Entrance zone: Includes a spacious parking lot for 52 cars and a service area, ensuring convenient access and logistics.
- Sports zone with stands. This is the main part of the complex, where athletes hone their skills in shooting at moving targets (clay pigeons oriented towards the forest belt). It also serves as the venue for ceremonial gatherings and award ceremonies. For spectators, a translucent canopy provides comfortable viewing of competitions in any weather.
- Recreation and family leisure zone. Oriented to the south, this part of the complex is created for relaxation and informal communication. In the quietest and most secluded area, there are three cozy pavilions with private courtyards facing a picturesque pond. Each pavilion accommodates groups of 5–7 people, ideal for private leisure. All pavilions are connected to the clubhouse by a covered gallery, ensuring uninterrupted passage. On the opposite side, a modern children’s playground with a shooting gallery is located, allowing parents to conveniently supervise children from the clubhouse, ensuring safety and comfort. In the warm season, the green amphitheater can host training programs and seminars in the open air.
Connecting galleries: comfort in any weather
One of the project’s tasks was to create a cohesive, comfortable environment independent of weather conditions, which is critically important for both sports and outdoor recreation. This was achieved through a system of covered translucent galleries that permeate and harmoniously connect the entire sports shooting range.
This solution guarantees seamless and sheltered movement throughout the complex: from the parking lot to any functional zone, visitors are always protected from rain, snow, and wind. Structurally, the galleries are supported by elegant and durable wooden and metal pillars, additionally reinforced with a system of cables, giving them a lightweight, contemporary appearance and forming a distinctive architectural identity.
Result: a multifunctional center for sports and active recreation
The sports shooting range project in Kolpino is a modern, multifunctional center where professional athletes can reach new heights, and at the same time, a local hub of attraction for outdoor recreation enthusiasts.
