“The Honor Of Company” Office

“The Honor Of Company” Office

The object of reconstruction is the last floor of a 2-storey building on the territory of ETAGI Loft (St. Petersburg). The project was completed under the contract at the beginning of 2008. The client, the company “Honor Of The Company”, offers organizations such services as job interviews, including the use of a polygraph (the so-called “lie detector”). In addition to the office of “Honor Of The Company”, it is planned to place the office of a law firm on the floor.

The spatial solution consists in the organization of 5 interconnected functional zones:

1. Waiting room (hall) – the central place of the whole project – a “concrete rotunda” with diffused natural light from round skylights in the ceiling. This is where the interviewee waits for the polygraph test. This is a place where time passes slowly and where one has the opportunity to collect one’s thoughts.

2. The director’s office – the reception room, where the client explains the essence of the problem and receives a referral to examine the interviewee. Soundproofing is achieved by acoustic panels. A glass partition (Crystal) made of milky white NAYADA glass separates the hall from the office. Neutral tone and cool colors emphasize the seriousness of the organization and the impartiality of its staff.

3. A block of 3 identical offices for specialists. Here, with complete isolation from the outside world (acoustic panels, vestibule), polygraph interviews are conducted. The window in each of the offices has been transformed into a porthole with a milky white coating. The interior is soft, but at the same time sterile and cold.

4. Lawyer’s office – the space is divided by glass partitions (by Crystal) made of mirrored glass by NAYADA.

5. Bypass gallery – the main communication – a layer of air between the heavy concrete frame – keeping calm and impartiality and lightness of the glass luminous volume (NAYADA) – a symbol of transparency and democracy. In the gallery, the interviewee leaves the office at the end of the session. This is also the way for visitors to get to the lawyers without entering the territory of the “Honor of the Company”.
